GMIT’s Synod Emergency Response Team has PCR Pool Test for COVID-19

KUPANG, www.sinodegmit.or.id, In order to ensure that the activities of GMIT’s Synod Emergency Response Team are free from Covid-19 transmission, all team members and volunteers underwent a PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) swab test.

The test was administered to 49 people at the Synod’s guest house complex, which is serving as the Team’s headquarters, on Tuesday, 4 May.

Samples were taken by a team from the Public Health Biomolecular Laboratory under the leadership of Theodor Bolle, M.Sc. According to results announced that evening, all specimens were negative for Covid-19.

The head of the Cyclone Seroja Emergency Response Team, REv. Dr. Mery Kolimon, expressed her thanks for the services of the Biomolecular Lab, which were given free of charge.

In view of the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in East Nusa Tenggara in recent weeks, the Emergency Response center required all staff and volunteers who deliver aid to affected areas to bring with them a letter certifying that they are free from Covid-19. ***
